This dude was rapping on my subway car yesterday… The lyrics were heartfelt and dark, and as I listened I realized they were genuinely well-written and smart. The guy’s delivery was powerful and honestly a bit intimidating (everyone on the subway shifting uncomfortably and looking away). When he finished I asked to take his portrait, and he threw back his hoodie and gave me this face, and ended up being kind, enthusiastic, and charming. I wish I could remember his name. Somebody sign this kid.
#tbt ironic duck-face selfie w/@caseybrooks_ from 3 summers ago. I met this fun and mega-talented girl when I first moved to NYC and she has been a dear friend/advisor/encourager/co-schemer ever since. It has been incredible to see Casey grow as a photographer & director… She knew where she wanted to be, and hustled relentlessly for 3 straight years to get to where she is now. There are huge things on the horizon for Casey and she earned everything that coming her way. This girl will become a major fixture in future of fashion photography. Cheers to you, Casey. Thanks for always lending a hand and helping me to make my work better, even when you’re busy.
